How To Set Up A Camera On A Tripod
Hey guys! So here for you today is some sites I had found that informed me more on how to set up a camera on a tripod. I hope you look through these sites since they do go into deeper research than I may go through with you guys. Easy to understand and I will analyse them for you so you can choose what is more suited for your tastes.
Youtube, 2007. Setting Up A Tripod. [video] Available at: <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CX8ClsvvD3M> [Accessed 6 October 2020].
Opticron's video sadly doesn't go into how to set a camera up on a tripod but it does show you how to prepare the tripod ready for the camera. The video is short and snappy it gets straight to the point what is good if you don't want to watch through a five or sex minute video! I will say that they use a range of camera angels doing extreme close ups when it comes to showing you how to do some of the tasks that are hard to see far away. It doesn't have that much personality or is that entertaining but I would recommend because it is a good video it just depends on whether you want to get straight to the point or not.
Youtube, 2017. How To Set Up Camera On A Tripod. [video] Available at: <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lj-E10ndxQ&t=1s> [Accessed 6 October 2020].
Alex's video is definitely my favourite out of the three, yes it may be longer than the video by Opticrons but his video is more entertaining. Not only this but the transition from each frame is really smooth and doesn't distract you from what he is saying the close ups are very clear and easy to see what is happening! When going through each step on how to set up your tripod and camera he goes into such detail making it easy for any newbies who may not know the technical terms even putting on a little demonstration for you while doing so. He goes into detail about spirit levels and why that is important and also a range of other little details the others may have missed. It may be six minutes long but I implore you to go watch it!
Gallagher, H., 2020. How To Use A Tripod. [online] wikiHow. Available at: <https://www.wikihow.com/Use-a-Tripod> [Accessed 6 October 2020].
Gallaghers website goes through step by step on how to set up a Tripod she even uses photos or little clips to help you understand if your a more visual learner! Easy to understand she does go through a lot more than just setting the camera and tripod up and ends up also teaching you about the settings and how to take a picture with a remote. Would definitely recommend I liked how she added visual effects with the arrows pointing what way you should turn the equipment.
How To Video Analyse
How To Setup A Tripod by Adria Richards, This was decent video and gets straight to the point. My one criticism would be that there was no editing involved it was just shot in one angle on the same camera the whole time. Even though you can see the product clearly throughout the video It is not the best visually to watch. One positive thing in the video is Adria makes it very clear on what shes doing and makes sure to move the product closer to the camera when needed so the demographic can see clearly.
DSLR for Beginners { How to Set Your Camera Up To Shoot A Video by Neal Walters, What I did take from this video is how unlike other How To videos he did add a intro to let others know who he is and what he is showing to the demographic. One thing I did notice in Neals video how he only uses to camera angels through out the hole video (Medium Close Up and Close Up). In the video he goes into deep detail making sure it was easy to follow for the audience definitely making it good for a first timer. Neals video how ever did drag on a bit there was no music and no comedy making it a bit hard to watch in my opinion.
Setting Up Your Camera- How To Use Your Camera Part 1 by Wex Photo Video, How Wex made this into a two part video is something I really like it makes the video as a whole easier to watch because the time doesn't look like it dragging on. Wex also goes on to using three different shot types (Medium Close up, Close Up and Extreme Close Up) in very clear focus making it easy to understand for the demographic since they can see what they are exactly doing.
